Road Rage Incident Ends With Knife Threat
Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from September 28 through October 6
Police say a road rage incident which began with one motorist cutting off another ended when one driver was confronted by the other displaying a knife and threatening to use it.
The incident took place on during the evening rush-hour at 6:15 pm on Friday, Oct. 2 in the area of Cloppers Mill Road and Millhaven Terrace in Germantown. One motorist followed the other, once they stopped, one motorist rolled down his window to confront the other. After exchanging profanities. At this point, the driver of a gray mini-van, described as a black male, age 30 to 39, with a beard displayed a hunting knife.
MCPD reported four residential burglaries in the Germantown area between Oct. 2 and Oct. 6.
The first residential burglary occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, Oct. 2 in the11900 block of Grey Squirrel Street in Clarksburg. Police say burglaries entered the residence through an unlocked door or window and stole property.
The next occurred in the 13200 block of Autumn Mist Circle, in Germantown on Oct. 2 between 9:45 am and 10:00 pm. Police say the burglar(s) broke in the residence and stole property.
A third burglary occurred in the 18700 block of Sparkling Water Drive, in Germantown on Friday, Oct. 2 between 6:30 pm and 11:00 pm. Again in this instance, burglar(s) broke in the residence and stole property.
The fourth residential burglary took place in the 13300 block of Dovedale Way in Germantown on Tuesday, Oct. 6 between 10:00 am and 6:30 pm. Once again the suspects broke into the residence and stole property. This the third week in a row that residences on Dovedale Way have been the victimized by burglars.
Police reported a number of thefts from vehicles which occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, Oct. 2 on Country Ridge Drive and Club Hill Road in Germantown. No forced entry, and property was stolen. MCPD reminds all residents to be sure to lock their vehicles to prevent such thefts.
MCPD reported a theft from vehicle in the 22800 block of Broadway Avenue in Boyds. Police say the theft, which included forced entry to the vehicle, took place between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm.
MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on October 16.
