Eight Burglaries Reported in Germantown

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Sept. 14 through Sept. 22.

   MCPD reported eight residential burglaries and one commercial burglary in the course of one week in September. Police report that one neighborhood in Germantown was hit by burglars three times.

   According to MCPD, The Park at Kingsview Village, which is off Leaman Farm Road near the Kingsview Village Shopping Center in Germantown was victimized on three separate occasions. Police say the burglaries may be related, but the investigation continues.

   The first took place in the 13300 block of Dovedale Way on Wednesday, Sept. 16 between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Police report no forced entry, but property was stolen.

   The second took place in the 13400 block of Daventry Way, which is just around the corner from the first burglary, between Wednesday, Sept. 17 and Thursday, Sept. 18. Again, no forced entry, but property was stolen.

   The third time the neighborhood was hit was back on the 13300 block of Dovedale Way on Thursday, Sept. 18 between 6:00 am and 4:30 pm. Police report no forced entry, but property was stolen.

   Police reported five other residential burglaries in the Germantown area. The first occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 15 between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm in the 19000 block of Staleybridge Road. Police report no forced entry, but property was stolen.

   Another residential burglary occurred in the 12600 block of Grey Eagle Court, between Sept. 17 and Sept. 23. Police report in this case that the burglar(s) forced entry and stole property.

   Police have arrested at 24-year-old white male from Herndon, Va, in connection with a residential burglary which occurred in the 11100 block of Flanagan Lane in Germantown. The incident occurred on Friday, Sept. 18 between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. Police say the suspect forced his way into the residence and stole cash.

   Another residential burglary occurred in the 12200 block of Cypress Spring Road on Sunday, Sept. 20 between 2:00 am and 8:00 am. No forced entry.

   Police say a residential burglary occurred in the 19800 block of Century Boulevard on Tuesday, Sept. 22 between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. No forced entry; property taken.

   The commercial burglary took place at Java Works at 12410 Milestone Center Drive in the early morning hours of Monday, Sept. 21. Police report forced entry, but nothing was taken.

   MCPD report multiple thefts from vehicles in the early morning hours of Friday, Sept. 18. Police say these thieves did not use force to enter the vehicles, but they did steal property. The thefts took place on Whitechurch Court and Shadyside Way.

   MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Oct.1.
