Councilmember Rice to Host Community Meeting at Northwest

Councilmember Craig Rice will meet with Germantown residents on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Northwest High School at 6:30 pm to discuss issues affecting the Germantown area. Among the issues he will provide updates on are schools, the increased attention to crime prevention, traffic and the impact of future development in Great Seneca Science Corridor.
“The Germantown area continues to evolve and mature,” said Rice. “This has become a wonderful place to live, but like any neighborhood there are growing pains to be expected. I know that we are all concerned about the retail business climate needed to support this area, as well as roadways and mass transit. I want residents to bring their questions and concerns so we can discuss these and other issues.”
This will be one of three community meetings Councilmember Rice holds around his district in October. He will join with Councilmember Sidney Katz to meet with North Potomac residents at Quince Orchard High School on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and will meet with Clarksburg residents at Rocky Hill Middle School in Clarksburg on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Northwest High School is located at 3501 Richter Farm Road in Germantown. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria. For more information about the community meeting, call 240-777-7955 or e-mail Councilmember Rice at Councilmember.rice@montgomerycountymd.gov.
