A teenager suffred a spinal injury while playing soccer at the Maryland SoccerPlex on Sunday afternoon. According to Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service senior spokesman Pete Piringer, MCFRS units were called to the SoccerPlex at about 1:15 pm on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 20.
Emergency Medical Service crews evaluted a 15-year-old male patient with “tingling to his extremities" after a collision with another player.
MCFRS called in the Maryland State Police medevac helicopter to fly the teenager to the Spinal Trauma Center in Baltimore. Piriginer said the teenager did not have significant deficits and believed the injury to be non-life-threatening.
