A number of residents were displaced after a deck caught fire at a Germantown townhouse on Monday, August 24.
Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service units were called to 18925 Ebbtide Circle for a fire in the middle of the row townhouse shortly after 2:00 pm on Monday, August 24.
MCFRS senior spokesman Pete Piringer said that the fire appears to have started in the walls on the basement level of the two-story townhouse, and extended up and onto the exterior deck area. The deck suffered significant damage would had become unsteady.
Firefighters engaged in firefight on the rear decking and the interior of the structure. The fire was brought under control by 2:24 pm, according to fire officials.
Piringer said all occupants had escaped safely and there were no reported injuries, however, a number of residents would be displaced.
