Montgomery County Police are still searching for a man believed responsible for a stabbing homicide that took place in Germantown late last night.
A 9-1-1 call brought police to the 129000 block of Walnut View Court at 11:25 pm on Tuesday, Aug. 11, where officers located an adult male with at least one stab wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police believe that the victim was a resident of one of the townhouses on Walnut View Court.
According to MCPD spokesperson Rebecca Innocenti, "The preliminary investigation indicates that the stabbing occurred in the parking lot. The suspect fled the scene."
Police immediately began a manhunt for an adult male suspect, which included using K-9 units as well as a Maryland State Police helicopter. The suspect remains at large and is not in police custody.
Detectives do not believe this homicide is random and believe suspect and victim may have known one another or may have known of each other.
Police are cautioning residents to be safe. "We always tell people to be safe and make smart choices. We want to stress that the suspect and victim knew each other or knew of each other. Again, this does not appear to be a random homicide."
