Man Arrested for Human Trafficking Was Local Soccer Coach

August 9, 2015

The Germantown man who police arrested earlier this week on human trafficking and pimping charges also ran a local soccer academy, according to reports.

Montgomery County detectives arrested Armand Theinkue Donfack, 35, of Choctaw Court in Germantown after conducting a sting operation at the Extended Stay America Hotel on Milestone Center Drive hotel in Germantown on July 8.

Police responded to an online ad for an escort service and arranged to meet a female escort at the hotel. Detectives arrived at the hotel at the meeting time and observed a male, later identified as Donfack, arrive at the hotel. Donfack entered the lobby and exited a short time later, leaving in a vehicle. A female then exited the hotel and approached a plainclothes officer. The detective identified herself to the escort as an officer and asked her about her activities at the hotel.

The female identified her “boss” as Donfack and stated to detectives that he took 60 percent of her weekly prostitution earnings. Detectives confirmed that Donfack paid for a room at the hotel on a regular basis. The female stated that she came to the United States to work as an escort.

NBC4 Washington has reported that Donfack is the owner of Champions Soccer Academy, which according to the academy’s FaceBook pages is based on Fountain Hills Drive in Germantown. According to NBC4, police believe Donfack's alleged crimes had no connection to the soccer business, other than his use of a car with his business's logo on the side.

Donfack was arrested at his home on Monday, Aug. 3 and was charged with two counts of human trafficking, one count of operating a business for prostitution, and two counts of prostitution. Donfack was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

Police believe that Donfack was bringing women into this country to work as prostitutes. MCPD detectives are looking into whether there were more women involved in the prostitution business. Anyone who has information regarding Donfack, or his illegal activities is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Department at 240-773-5958.
