BlackRock Center to Host Open House

Get a taste of BlackRock Center For the Art’s artistic and educational programs throughout the year including high quality performances, arts classes, works of art in the gallery and more at the Black Rock Open House Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

   The event will include a Discover BlackRock Scavenger Hunt, tours of the center, arts and craft activities and a cupcake reception to kick off the 2015/2016 season of performances.

   This will be a day of free fun for the whole family including sample arts classes, scavenger hunt with the chance to win prizes, art exhibits in our galleries and on the lawn, arts and crafts for the kids, tours of BlackRock’s two performing venues and galleries, a family-friendly performance on our Mainstage and much more including:

   The BlackRock Center’s performance season will begin on Saturday, Oct 3 with The Hot Sardines. The show promises blustery brass lineup, layered over a rhythm section led by a stride-piano virtuoso in the Fats Waller vein, all tied together with a “one-of-the-boys” front-woman with a voice from another era.
