August 3, 2015

There are three events scheduled to take place in the Germantown area in conjunction with National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4. National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, is designed to generate neighborhood support and participation in crime prevention efforts and to enhance police and community relations.

The first Germantown area event are will take place Tuesday, August 4 in Germantown Park near community pool at 18400 Cinnamon Drive between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm. The next will take place in The Hamptons community near the pool at 19757 Crystal Rock Drive from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.  Finally the Plantations II community will host an event near its pool at 23686 Rolling Fork Way in Damascus between 6:00 and 7:30 pm.

Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, many communities celebrate with a variety of events to help neighbors get to know one another and to build community spirit. This is the 32nd year of National Night Out observances that demonstrate a community’s commitment to keep their neighborhood free from crime.
