Congressman Delaney to Host ID Theft Protection Forum in Germantown
Congressman John Delaney (D-MD) will host an Identity Theft Forum with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Attorney General Brian Frosh, and others to help to share information on how to protect your identity as well as concrete steps you can take if you're a victim. Each year, more than 12 million Americans become victims of identity fraud. That’s a new victim every three seconds.
The event will be held on Thursday, July 16, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown.
At the forum, attendees will have the chance to talk one-on-one with representatives from various state and federal agencies who can help answer questions about identity fraud. There will also be a panel discussion with the FTC, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, the Maryland State Police, and other experts on the best ways to protect yourself.
To attend Thursday's Identity Theft Forum, RSVP to Delaney.Events@mail.house.gov or call (301) 926-0300. If you can’t make it to the event, but are in need of help, contact Congressman Delaney’s offices in Gaithersburg at (301) 926-0300 or in Hagerstown at (301) 733-2900.
