Germantown Celebrates America

July 5, 2015

A Germantown Fourth, which began with rain and featured a very heavy rainstorm that sent many backyard cookouts scurrying to get the food and fun indoors and dry ended with two concerts and fireworks display.

A mid-afternoon storm came through Germantown early enough that it allowed organizers at BlackRock Center

for the Arts time to make sure it was dry enough for the Saturday Concert Series to continue featuring No BS! Brass. The show started at 7:00 pm and rocked the large number of residents that were sitting on the lawn in downtown Germantown.

Meanwhile across town at the Maryland SoccerPlex and South Germantown

Park thousands of folks from around the Germantown area were gathering for the Germantown Glory concert and fireworks display. The concert was a Tina Turner Revue featuring Suzette Dorsey which got rolling at 7:00 pm while thousands of residents began to fill in the parking lots and take spots on the lawn at South Germantown as they awaited the fireworks.
