Germantown Man Arrested in Connection with Fatal Accident
Montgomery County Police have arrested a Germantown man in connection with an accident that took the life a Rockville woman last weekend.
Police have arrested Ulices Chavez, 22, of the 11604 of Queen Nicole Terrace in Germantown, for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue Service units were called to the area of Shady Grove Road at Epsilon Drive for the report of a collision at about 4:30 pm on Saturday, June 27.
Preliminary investigation by detectives from the MCPD-Collision Reconstruction Unit indicates that a blue Toyota mini-van, driven by Chavez, was traveling north on Shady Grove Road. Police say that for reasons still under investigation, Chavez’s mini-van collided with a tan Toyota Camry that was traveling west from Tupelo Drive killing the driver of the Camry, which was was crossing Shady Grove Road where Tupelo Drive becomes Epsilon Drive.
Police have identified the driver of the tan Toyota Camry as Gerilynne Seigneur, 61, of the 16300 block of Grande Vista Drive in Rockville. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Police said that Chavez was not injured and was arrested on suspicion of DUI at the scene. Chavez is a 2012 graduate of Seneca Valley High School. Also in 2012, Chavez was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and cruelty to animals, according to court records.
