MCPS Honors Retiring Employees

Montgomery County Public Schools honored retiring employees for their services during the annual MCPS Retirement Dinner held last night at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville.

   At its regular meeting last month, the Board of Education honored the retiring employees with a resolution. “Whereas, each person, through outstanding performance of duties and dedication to the education of our youth,” read the resolution, “has made a significant contribution to the school system that is worthy of special commendation; now therefore be it Resolved, That the members of the Board of Education express their sincere appreciation to each person for faithful service to the school system and to the youth of the county, and also extend to each one best wishes for the future.”

   Among those retiring are 33 employees from Germantown area schools; they include;

   

   Retiring from Germantown area elementary schools are:

   Nelly A. Alfonso, Building Service Worker at William B. Gibbs, Jr. Elementary School after 14 years of service to MCPS.

   Judith A. Buschman, Paraeducator atS. Christa McAuliffe Elementary School after 17.7 years of service.

   Pamela A. Cromwell, Teacher at Cedar Grove Elementary School, after 43 years of service.

   E. McCann French, Teacher at Fox Chapel Elementary School after 16.8 years of service

   Sharon E. Hawkins, Teacher and Staff Development at Great Seneca Creek Elementary School after 23.6 years of service.

   Sheri L. Hite-Keough, Teacher at Germantown Elementary School after 30 years of service.

   Susan M. Gougeon, Teacher at Spark M. Matsunaga Elementary School after 31.7 years of service.

    Martha A. Haslett, Teacher and Special Education at Spark M. Matsunaga Elementary School after 33.2 years of service.

   Mina M. Luther, Paraeducator at Clopper Mill Elementary School after 24.8 years of service.

   June A. Miller, Teacher at Waters Landing Elementary School after 30 years of service.

   Tina W. Shrewsbury, Principal at Waters Landing Elementary School after 27.3 years of service.

   Jose O. Rodriguez, Building Service Assistant Manager at S. Christa McAuliffe Elementary School after 26.1 years of service.

   Silvia E. Salas, Building Service Worker at Dr. Sally K. Ride Elementary School after 14 years of service.

   Sidra K. Van Norden, Media Specialist at Dr. Sally K. Ride Elementary School after 27.4 years of service.

   Olga D. Mendez, Paraeducator and Special Education at Longview School after 26.5 years of service.

   Debra L. Lee, Paraeducator and Special Education at Longview School after 36.9 years of service.

   Patricia A. Toombs, Paraeducator and Special Education at Longview School after 16 years of service.

 

   Retiring from Germantown area middle schools are:

   Margaret M. Aldridge, Teacher at Roberto Clemente Middle School after 8.4 years of service.

   Nancy V. Britton, School Secretary at Roberto Clemente Middle School after 25.5 years of service.

   Yajuan Ying, Building Service Worker at Roberto Clemente Middle School after 8.6 years of service.

Maureen M. Campbell, Teacher at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School after 29.4 years of service.

   Steve P. Hall, Security Assistant at Kingsview Middle School after 9.5 years of service.

 

   Retiring from Germantown area high schools are:

   Veronica L. Cassidy, Teacher at Northwest High School after 7.8 years of service.

   Clayton E. Putnam, Teacher, at High Northwest High School after 33 years of service.

   Arlene G. Rawson, Media Assistant at Northwest High School after 21 years of service.

   Stacey H. Reilly, Teacher at Northwest High School after 26.7 years of service.

   Jennifer K. Bildman, Teacher and Academic Intervention Specialist at Seneca Valley High School after 11.3 years of service.

   Martin J. Mulhern, Teacher and Special Education Specialist at Seneca Valley High School after 40 years of service.

   Elizabeth B. Murphy, Dual Enrollment Program Assistant at Seneca Valley High School after 16.9 years of service.

   Denise D. Saladyga, Teacher and, Special Education at Seneca Valley High School after 13.4 years of service.

   Felixberto P. Pineda, Instructor with JROTC at Seneca Valley High School after 9.9 years of service.

   Jean M. Tatton, Paraeducator and Special Education at Seneca Valley High School after 24 years of service.
