The film which chronicles the Roberto Clemente Middle School music program’s Rock Band class will have its Germantown premiere at Seneca Valley High School in May.

The film, “Best Day of My Life: The Rock in Schools Story” will premiere in Germantown at Seneca Valley High School on Tuesday, May 26 at 7:00 pm. The premiere will be free and open to the public.

Randi Levy, who is one of the film’s stars and producers, is a music teacher at RCMS is asking for former Roberto Middle School students who have been part of the Rock Band program at Clemente to attend. “I hope that you can attend to share in the experience of this wonderful story,” said Levy in an email to former students. “This is a special event for our whole school, graduates of the program and the Germantown community.”

The film produced House Digital Cinema and Clemente Music Rocks in association with $5 Music Video NS Chuck Levins Washington Music Center. It is a documentary film produced by the video arm of House Studio DC, a well-respected professional recording studio in Washington, D.C. about the Rock Band music program at Clemente.

The filmmakers released the trailer for the film on April 15 via YouTube and are hoping to garner 250,000 views prior to the premier of the full film, which is still in post-production. The two weeks since being released the trailer has been viewed over 74,000 times.

Once completed the film will be submitted to the DC Shorts Film Festival, at the end of this month, as well as other film festivals around the country. The film must be submitted in April to be in contention for the actual DC Shorts Film Fest which takes place in November.
