Flood Watch Issued for Germantown Area

FloodWatchGraphic.jpg

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Germantown Area beginning at 7:00 pm Sunday night through Monday, morning April 20.

“Moderate to locally heavy rain will overspread the region this evening through tonight ending by the middle morning,” said the National Weather Service. “Rainfall totals around one-and-a-half inches are expected. Locally higher amounts are possible. Expect small streams and creeks to rise, possibly overflowing their banks. Flooding may occur in low lying and poor drainage areas.”

Flash Floods kill more people every year than any other weather hazard. Do not drive through flooded areas. As little as 2 feet of water can sweep a vehicle off the road.
