Police Seek Assistance to Find Missing Northwest High School Student

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Special Victims Investigations Division are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Mervin Rivas-Chang.

Mervin Rivas-Chang, age 16, of the 13000 block of Millhaven Place in Germantown. He was last seen Thursday, April 16 at 6:45 a.m. when he was dropped off at Northwest High School in Germantown. Mervin is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot, 8-inches tall, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and was carrying a black bag pack. He frequents in the area of Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg.

Police and family are concerned for his physical and emotional welfare. Mervin has not been in contact with his family since his disappearance.

Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Mervin Rivas-Chang is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Special Victims Division at 240-773-5400 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24hrs). Callers may remain anonymous.
