MCPD to Conduct Search for Missing Hoggle Children Sunday

The Montgomery County Police Department, with the assistance of allied police agencies and volunteer search teams, will be conducting search operations on Sunday, April 19, in an attempt to locate Jacob and Sarah Hoggle. This search is not based on any new investigative leads but is part of the continued efforts of the department to locate the Hoggle children, according to police.

Jacob Hoggle, age 2, was last seen in the Darnestown area at approximately 4:00 p.m. on September 7, 2014. Sarah Hoggle, age 3, was last seen in the Clarksburg area on the evening of September 7 at approximately 9:00 p.m.

The children were last known to be in the company of their mother, Catherine Hoggle. Catherine Hoggle also went missing on Sept. 8. She was found in Germantown and taken into custody by police on Friday, Sept.12. The children were not with her when she was taken into custody, and she has still not divulged their whereabouts. She remains in custody at the Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center in Jessup, Md.

Police say that on Sunday, April 19, residents can expect to see law enforcement officers and volunteer search teams from various jurisdictions searching in areas around the county. Members of this operation will be using canines, ATVs, and horses to aid in the ground search.

Police are asking residents in the areas of Darnestown, Boyds, and Clarskburg again to search their property for any sign of Jacob and Sarah. Due to the active criminal investigation that is associated with the disappearance of the Hoggle children, volunteers from the community cannot be used in this search.
