Montgomery County Police are investigating a pedestrian accident which took place Tuesday afternoon, March 31 at Germantown Road and Wisteria Road. The accident left a woman with life threatening injuries.
According to police, the 9-1-1 call regarding the accident came in at 1:28 pm. The woman was transported to a local hospital by EMS with what MCFRS spokesman called priority one traumatic injuries. The victim was struck by a black Chrysler convertible which displayed a smashed-in windshield. While police have not yet released the identity of the driver or the victim.
Police closed the eastbound portion of Germantown Road between Wisteria Road and Middlebrook Road as the MCPD Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the accident. MCPD spokesman Capt. Paul Starks said it was too early in the investigation to know if any charges would brought against the driver.
While police have not yet released the identity of the victim, they did confirm that she is not a high school student. News of a pedestrian struck at that intersection reminded many of the accident involving 15-year-old Seneca Valley High School student Christina Morris-Ward which happened at that location on Oct. 31, 2012.
