Fire Badly Damages Germantown Home

Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service units responded to a Germantown house fire on Saturday night.

   The fire which occurred at 20004 Wanegarden Court about 8:00 pm Saturday, March 28, consumed much of one exterior wall of the two-story, one-family home. The building suffered severe damage as a result of the fire.

   According to MCFRS Senior Spokesman Pete Piringer, the home suffered approximately $100,000 in damage.  The accidently fire started in the chimney and extended into the walls on the first and second floor, as well as the attic of the house. Two adults, two children and a dog have been displaced by the fire. 

 

    Firefighters engaged in an extended firefight to knock down the bulk of the fire. All occupants were able to escape the residence without injury and no injuries were reported among MCFRS personnel.
