Winter Returns: Winter Weather Advisory for Germantown

The Winter of 2015 is not done yet, even as Spring officially starts Friday morning, Winter will not go quietly.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Germantown area and all of Northwest Montgomery County from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday, March 20. The NWS is expecting light rain to move into the area Thursday evening and transition to all snow in the early morning hours on Friday. The National Weather service is calling for accumulations of 2 to 4 inches of snow, with temperatures in the low 30s.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation says it will begin activing the Storm Operations Center at 2:00 am Friday morning, with the expectation of dealing with 2 to 3 inches of snow. The MCDOT reported earlier this week, that it has removed 47 inches of ice and snow from County roads so far this winter.

Germantown Pulse's weather partner, MoCoSnow.com will have prediction about possible school delays or closures by 8:00 pm this evening. And if there are any delays or closures Germantown Pulse will let you know as soon as a determination is made.
