Northwest has got back-to-back again. After winning back-to-back state football championships, the Jags have taken their second straight 4A Maryland State Indoor Track title, in a meet that was highlighted by Shyheim Wright’s all-time performance in the 55-meter hurdles.

On Monday, at the Maryland State Championship Meet held at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover the Northwest boys’ team racked up 73 team points to take the top spot.

Northwest junior Shyheim Wright won the State Championship in 55 meter hurdles turning in a 7.27 performance in the finals. The fastest time ever turned in by a Montgomery County runner in the event.
