Seneca Valley Girls Relay Team Wins State Championship

Four girls from Seneca Valley High School ran their way into school history as they set a school record during the Maryland State Indoor Track Meet held Monday, at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover.

    The Seneca Valley girls’ 4x800 meter team of Jordyn Pugh, Anita Falade, Omolola Sanusi, and Mariah McLane won the Maryland State 3A Championship with a time of 9:48.67. The team improved on their own school record to win the 3A title.    The Seneca Valley girls also placed second in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:04.31.

    Overall, the Seneca Valley girls’ indoor team placed fifth in the state at the meet.
