The Montgomery County Board of Education has approved a contract to replace the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system at S. Christa McAuliffe Elementary School in Germantown.
In the consent agenda portion of the Monday evening business meeting, the Board approved a $2.1 million contact with Baltimore-based Emjay Engineering and Construction Co. to replace the HVAC system at McAuliffe Elementary and a $115,500 contract with Mount Airy-based Keller Construction Management, LLC to provide construction management services for the project.
In the resolution the Board indicated that Emjay Engineering and Construction Co. was the low bidder for the project and met the Maryland Department of Transportation Minority Business Enterprise criteria. Interstate has submitted certification that the company is 10 percent owned by women.
