Varriale and Blanchard Named Seneca Valley Scholar Athletes of the Month

February 17, 2015

Jesse Irvin, Athletic Director at Seneca Valley announced that Jennifer Varriale and Grayson Blanchard have been named the Seneca Valley Scholar Athletes for the Month of January.

Varriale is a member of the poms team. She currently has a 4.0 GPA and consistently has one of the highest GPAs on the team. “Jennifer is a senior transfer student from Italy. This is Jennifer's first year on the team and she has been a model student athlete,” said Irvin. “Despite the challenges of learning a new language and adapting to a new culture, Jennifer's dedication to her education has remained steadfast. Jennifer's determination carries over to dance as she has regularly excelled this year at practices and performances.”

Blanchard is a junior on the swimming and diving team with a 3.57 GPA. “Grayson was the Division champion in 50 freestyle and had a 2nd place finish in the 100 butterfly, helping his team to a 2nd place overall finish at the Division IV Swimming & Diving Championships,” said Irvin. “He has been helpful to his teammates in and out of the water.”
