Wind Advisory for Germantown

Tie down anything that might blow around the neighborhood because things will get windy this afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Monday afternoon and evening, Feb. 2.

“The strongest winds from mid-afternoon until early evening. Winds, northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph,” said the NWS advisory. There is a chance of tree and power line damage as a result of these winds.

The warm air saved the Germantown area from what could have been the biggest snow storm of the year. However, those high temps will not stay around long. MocoSnow.com tweeted that “temperatures could hit upper 40s before nose diving below freezing this evening and into the teens overnight.”
