The Northwest Jags were looking for revenge Friday as the hosted Gaithersburg. The Jags wanted to take some of the sting of a 30 point loss to the Trojans 15-days ago and for a while, it looked as if they might come away with a victory.

But Gaithersburg’s Anthony Tarke caught fire in the fourth quarter. The six-foot, five senior started the game by sinking a three-pointer, but had 19 of his 29 points in the last period to lift the Trojans past the Jags. Tarke’s 29 points lead all scorers. He was also a force on the boards grabbing multiple offensive rebounds.

The Jags were coming off a come-from-behind victory over Wootton last night, and jumped out to an early lead thanks to the combination of senior Donnie Gaines’ two three-balls and Jamar Wilson’s seven points in the early going. By half-time, the Jags led the Trojans 39-33.
