Be prepared for a dicey commute tonight as a fast moving storm will coat the Germantown area with a wintery mix of ice, sleet and snow. While accumulations are expected to be less than an inch, it could create hazardous road conditions and slick sidewalks tonight.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Germantown area for this afternoon and evening, Thursday, Jan. 29 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Expect snow and sleet accumulations of less than one inch of ice accumulations of a trace to a few hundreds of an inch.
The best chance for freezing rain will be between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, according to the NWS.
