Montgomery County police and fire and rescue units were dispatched to the intersection of Clopper Road and Cinnamon Drive for an accident involving an MCPS school bus and a Jeep, on Friday afternoon, Jan. 23.
The accident happened shortly after 3:00 pm as the bus carrying 49 students from Roberto Clemente Middle School collided with a black Jeep as the Jeep was attempting to turn onto Clopper Road from Cinnamon Drive.

While none of the students were injured, both the driver of the Jeep and the bus were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, according to MCFRS spokesman Pete Piringer. MCFRS personnel had to extract the driver of the Jeep prior to transport to the hospital. The students were transferred to another MCPS school bus.
Clopper Road was closed in both directions for about 45 minutes on Friday.
