Clarksburg Seniors Named McDonald’s All-American Nominees

January 20, 2015

Clarksburg High School seniors Austin Duffy and Nelson Jones have been named as two of the 823 nominees to play for the McDonald’s All-American high school basketball all-star game. Being named nominees, makes Duffy and Jones eligible to make the final team of 24 boys that will be selected to play in the 2015 games.

The final teams will be announced during the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Show on ESPNU on Wednesday Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. The double-header boys/girls games will be played at the United Center in Chicago on April 1

“The 823 high school basketball players who were nominated for the 2015 McDonald’s All American Games represent the finest high school basketball talent in the country,” said Morgan Wootten, McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee Chairman.

“We are privileged to acknowledge these students for their success on the court, in the classroom and in the community, and look forward to announcing the final roster of 24 girls and 24 boys later this month.”

The McDonald's All-American Team is the best-known of the American high-school basketball All-American teams. Having the designation of McDonald's All-American instantly brands a player as one of the top high-school players in the United States or Canada. Former McDonald’s All-Americans include Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant.
