Police Investigate Possible Sighting of Hoggle Children in New Jersey

By Kevin O’Rourke

Montgomery County Police told Fox5 DC that they are investigating a new tip which alleges that the two Hoggle children, missing since Sept. 8, have been spotted in New Jersey.

The possible sighting was first published on the FindSarahFindJacob Facebook page on December 29. “Possible sighting on NJ Turnpike North at Exit 8A-9 - December 28th ~4 PM Eastern,” said the post.

The children’s father Troy Turner told Fox5 DC that surveillance video of the alleged sighting at a rest stop on the New Jersey Turnpike has been obtained and is being sent to local investigators for review.

The children, Jacob, 2, and Sarah, 4, were last known to be in the company of their mother, Catherine Hoggle. Catherine Hoggle, a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic, also went missing on Sept. 8. She was found and taken into custody by police on Friday, Sept.12. The children were not with her when she was taken into custody, and she has refused to tell police the whereabouts of her children.

Montgomery County Police believe that children are dead and have been building a homicide investigation against Catherine Hoggle, a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. The 27-year-old mother has been held psychiatric hospital and faces multiple charges in connection with the disappearance of her children.

However, Turner has said that Hoggle has told him that the children are alive and that she dropped them off with someone.

Family and friends continue to search for the children. The search for the Hoggle kids has been originating from the Germantown Community Center on Kingsview Drive, next to Kingsview Middle School on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Volunteers meet to distribute flyers, raise community awareness and search for Jacob and Sarah. The family has put up $25,000 reward for any information that leads to the safe return of the children, for more information go to the website, www.findsharahfindjacob.com.
