Mugging On Cloppers Mill Drive Leads Blotter

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Dec. 15 through Dec. 23.

   MCPD is still seeking two young black males in connection with a strong arm robbery which occurred in the 13200 block of Coppers Mill Drive in Germantown on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 2:35 pm. The suspects forcefully removed property from the victim. The first suspect is described as a 5-foot, 8-or 9-inch, 15- or 16-year old black male, with black hair in dreadlocks/twists short possibly a flattop, wearing a black hooded sweater. The second suspect is a black male, 5-foot, 6-inches tall, also 15- or 16-years old wearing a tan and blue hoodie and blue jeans.

   Police are also seeking an individual in connection with an aggravated assault which occurred in the area of Clopper Road and Mateny Road in Germantown on Monday, Dec. 22 at 6:30 pm. The suspect, a white, 5-foot, 6-inch male, weighing about 200 pounds with a goatee wearing black sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt with a soccer emblem, assaulted the victim then fled the scene.

   Police arrested two teenagers, and are seeking another suspect, in connection with a resident burglary which occurred in the 20300 block of Cider Barrel Drive in Germantown on Friday, Dec. 19 at 12:50 pm. Police arrested an 18-year-old male from Gaithersburg and a 17-year-old male from Germantown, and are still looking for a third suspect believed to be a black male in connection with this burglary.

   MCPD arrested a 19-year old male from Damascus in connection with an aggravated assault which occurred at the Weis Market at 26075 Ridge Road in Damascus on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 8:00 am.

   Police reported an aggravated assault occurred in the 12100 block of Brittania Circle in Germantown on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 2:30 am, and arrested at 54 year old male with no fixed address in connection with the assault.

   MCPD reported a vehicle theft occurred in the 13600 block of Spinning Wheel Drive in Germantown on Saturday, Dec. 20 between 3:00 am and 4:20 am.

   Three additional residential burglaries were reported in the 5th District during the week; a residential burglary occurred in the 19500 block of Frederick Road in Germantown. No forced entry; property taken. Another residential burglary occurred in the 18200 block of Swiss Circle in Germantown on Friday, Dec. 19 between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Forced entry; property taken. The third residential burglary occurred in the 19300 block of Ranworth Drive in Germantown overnight between Saturday, Dec. 20 and Sunday, Dec. 21. The suspects entered the victim’s vehicle and garage and removed property.

   MCPD reported a commercial burglary occurred at Francis O Day Company, Inc. located at 20768 Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown between Friday, Dec. 19 and Monday, Dec. 22. Forced entry; property taken.

   Six thefts from vehicles occurred during this reporting time frame. According to police, four of the six most likely occurred overnight between Saturday, Dec. 20 and Sunday Dec. 21. Incidents occurred on Lullaby Court, Saturn Way, Lullaby Road, Briarwick Street and Tattershall Drive in Germantown. Items taken included: cash, video games, toys, jewelry, medicine, a GPS and a ski mask.

   MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Jan. 3.
