Firefighters Respond to Smoke Condition

By Kevin O’Rourke

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a smoke condition at a home on Barnesvillle Road in Boyds on Sunday morning.

Firefighters were called to 15311 Barnesville Road at about 7:50 am on Sunday morning due to a report of smoke in a single-family home. Firefighters responded with a water truck because this home is in a non-hydrant area.

After investigating, MCFRS crews determined that the smoke was caused by an over-loaded oil burner. Firefighters used fans to move the smoke out of the house, and no injuries or major damage was reported.
