Group Attacks, Robs Man as He Exits Bus
Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Tuesday, Oct. 20 through Tuesday, Oct. 28.
On Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7:00 pm a group of 11 assailants attacked and robbed a Germantown resident as he exited the bus between Eagles Roost Drive and Owls Run Drive on 18400 block of Mateny Road, in what MCPD is calling a strong-arm robbery. The 11 suspects, 10 black males and one black female assaulted the man and stole his property. MCPD does not know if this was a targeted attack or if the victim knew his assailants. No other descriptions of the attackers were available.
MCPD is also investigating an act of vandalism which occurred in the 19500 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown. In this case a hate message including profanity and a Swastika was spray painted on the side of an apartment building. The message was directed at a specific person in a nearby apartment. The MCPD has said they are treating this as a hate crime. MCPD believes the vandalism occurred between 9:00 am and 1:40 pm on Friday, Oct. 24.
Montgomery County Police are still asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects which burglarized a residence in the 11400 block of Flowerton Place in Germantown between 11:24 am and 11:34 am.
Nearby surveillance footage, that captures two possible suspects and suspect vehicle, was provided to the police. The suspects are a black male, 5-foot, 11-inch tall, and 180 pounds, wearing tan or brown cargo pants, a black shirt and white shoes, and a 5-foot, 11-inch tall, and 180 pound black male, wearing a black tee shirt, black jeans low on his waist and black shoes. The suspects drove a black four-door SUV.

In other news, MCPD arrested a 44-year-old Germantown woman in connection with an aggravated assault which occurred on the 11700 block of Doxdam Terrace in Germantown on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 2:30 pm. The suspect is known to the victim.
An arrest was also made in connection with another aggravated assault which occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 28 in the 11600 block of Drumcastle Terrace in Germantown. In this case, a 44-year-old Germantown man was arrested. The suspect in this case is also known to the victim.
A residential burglary occurred on the 19500 block of Gunners Branch Road in Germantown overnight on Monday, Oct. 20 and Tuesday, Oct. 21. It is unknown how the burglars entered the house, but property was taken.
MCPD reported another aggravated assault at the intersection of Wisteria Drive and Bent Willow Drive in Germantown on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 10:00 pm, the suspect is known to the victim.
An attempted residential burglary occurred on the 19600 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 3:10 am. This case involved attempted forced entry to the residence but nothing was taken.
MCPD reported that there were seven thefts from vehicles during this reporting period:
Two occurred overnight between Thursday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Oct. 24 on Town Commons Drive in Germantown. The interior of the vehicle had been searched. A GPS, wireless headphones, and a car seat were taken. There was no sign of forced entry.
The second occurred during the same time frame on Century Boulevard in Germantown, in the upper parking lot of the Germantown Library. The victim’s purse and an unknown amount of cash were taken. No signs of forced entry.
Another incident occurred on Provost Way in Germantown overnight between Tuesday, Oct. 21 and Wednesday, Oct. 22, in which a credit card was taken.
Police reported that a 32-foot ladder was taken off the roof of a work truck overnight between Thursday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Oct. 24 in the 12800 block of Pinnacle Drive in Germantown.
An incident occurred on Germantown Road in Germantown on Saturday, Oct. 25 between 6:00 am and 10:00 am in which tools were taken from a vehicle.
An incident occurred on Crystal Hill Circle in Germantown between Tuesday, Oct. 21 and Friday, Oct. 24. The interior of the vehicle was searched. An iPod, bibles and the center console carrier with documents were taken. There were no signs of forced entry.
Another incident occurred on Circle Gate Drive in Germantown overnight between Friday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 24 in which a backpack was taken from the victim’s unlocked vehicle.
MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Nov. 7.
