Damascus Homicide Leads Police Blotter

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Sept. 29 through Oct. 7.

   MCPD detectives from District 5 were called to a residence near Germantown for a homicide on 24100 block of Pecan Grove Lane in Gaithersburg at about 5:00 pm on Saturday, Oct. 4. Officers located Russell David, a 55-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Officers also located the suspect, Andrew David, at the scene, he is the18-year-old nephew of the victim; he was taken into custody. Both the victim and the suspect reside at the residence on Pecan Grove Lane. Preliminary investigation indicates that an altercation between the victim and suspect occurred in the residence.

   This homicide is an on-going investigation. Detectives continue to examine forensic evidence and are awaiting the Medical Examiner’s findings.

   The Montgomery County Police reported an attempted robbery of a juvenile victim on Oct. 6 near the intersection of Waring Station Road and Forest Brook Road in Germantown. Two suspects attempted to unsuccessfully obtain property from the victim and fled. The suspects are two white males, one was 5 foot, 7 inches, 150 pounds, wearing a black hat, “snap back,” worn backwards, and black hooded sweatshirt. The second was 5 foot, 6 inches tall, 140 pounds, wearing a blue shirt, with light blue and dark blue horizontal stripes.

   MCPD arrested a 23-year-old male from Germantown on aggravated assault charges in connection with an incident that took place on Monday, Sept. 29 at the 19500 block of Gunners Branch Road in Germantown. The suspect is known to the victim.

   MCPD also reported an aggravated assault in the 14300 block of Comus Road on Monday, Oct. 6 at 4:30 pm. A 41-year-old male was arrested, he is known to the victim.

   MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Oct. 16.
