Man Sentenced to Life for Murder of Ex-Wife in Germantown

October 16, 2014

Montgomery County Circuit Judge Michael Mason sentenced a Nashville man to life in prison for the murder of his ex-wife in Germantown last October.

In August, a Montgomery County jury convicted Baldeo Taneja, 63, and his new wife Raminder Kaur, 63, both of Nashville, Tenn. of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

The jury found that the couple was guilty of driving from Nashville and gunning down Taneja’s ex-wife Preeta Gabba, 49, near her home in the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive.

The motive for the murder, according to prosecutors, was Taneja allegedly owed over $10,000 to Gabba in back alimony as part of an acrimonious divorce settlement. It was reported, that Taneja was scheduled to appear in Montgomery County court a few days prior to the murder to discuss settlement of the alimony.
