Screaming Eagles Grind Gladiators

By Kevin O’Rourke
It took Seneca Valley two offensive possession against Northwood to show that the early game sluggishness which plagued them in their first four games was gone. The Screaming Eagles would go on to win 42-14.
The Screaming Eagles scored two touchdowns on just five offensive snaps. The first drive was three plays and ended with sophomore running back Darius Golston powering for a 30-yard touchdown run.

After a Northwood Gladiators three-and-out, Seneca Valley’s Adrian Feliz-Platt broke free along the right sideline for a 60-yard touchdown on the first play of the drive, staking the Eagles to a 14-0 lead with five minutes left in the first quarter.
The victory moves Seneca Valley to 5-1, and drops Northwood to 1-5. Next Thursday the Eagles will host the 2-4 Watkins Mill Wolverines, who lost 22-0 to Rockville on Friday.
The win keeps Seneca Valley’s post-season hopes alive. They are currently in second place in the Montgomery County 3A division, behind 6-0 Damascus, who beat Whitman 28-6 on Friday.
