Holy Cross Germantown Delivers First Baby
Recently opened Holy Cross Germantown Hospital has announced the birth of the first baby to be born on the hospital.
The baby boy, Maxim Gabriel Velencia, was born at 4:30 am on Sunday, Oct. 5 weighing 6 pounds, 8 ounces. The baby was born to Gaithersburg residents Cemile and Byron Velencia and had two older siblings, a brother Aiden, 7, and a sister Mila, 5.
The baby was delivered by Dr. Leslie Masiky, MD of Potomac Obstetrics & Gynecology.
The hospital, which opened Oct. 1, also performed its first surgical procedure. The first surgical patient was James Sweet, who was a patient of Dr. Douglas Murphy.
