Thieves Hit Same Construction Site Twice


Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Monday, Sept. 15 through Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The Montgomery County Police website, www.mymcpnews.com reported that thieves struck the same construction site to steal property in two days. MCPD reports that the first commercial burglary occurred at a construction site at 14301 Byrne Park Drive in Germantown overnight between Tuesday, Sept. 16 and Wednesday, Sept. 17. Property was taken.

A second burglary was reported at the same site between noon and 6:00 pm, on Sept. 17. The method of entry was unknown, but property was taken.

MCPD arrested a 29 year-old Germantown man in connection with an aggravated assault on the 11400 block of Stoney Point Place in Germantown on Saturday, Sept. 20. The suspect is known to the victim.

Also on Saturday, Sept. 20, just after midnight a residential burglary occurred in the 19500 block of Scenery Drive in Germantown. The suspect is known to the victim.

Also in the Scenery Drive area, in the 19500 block of Scenery Drive was the scene of two garage burglaries, between Saturday, Sept, 20 and Sunday, Sept. 21. Two more garage burglaries were reported on the 13200 block of Dairymaid Drive in Germantown and 19400 block of Frederick Road in Germantown.

MCPD reports five thefts from vehicles between Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 3:30 pm and Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 4:00 pm. Two thefts occurred on Meadow Mist Road, and the other four took place on Little Seneca Parkway, Sweepspire Drive and Skylark Drive in Clarksburg. A theft from vehicle was reported on Cherry Branch Drive overnight on Sunday, Sept. 21 to Monday, Sept. 22. Items taken in these thefts included cash, bills and coins, sunglasses and two iPads.

MCPD also reported seven thefts from vehicles on Highstream Drive, Cherry Bend Drive, Steeple Court, Grotto Court, Gallop Terrace and Crosstie Drive in Germantown. These thefts occurred between Tuesday, Sept. 16 and Wednesday, Sept 17. None of these thefts required a forced entry. Items taken from these vehicles included cash, a camera, sunglasses, wallets, credit cards, iPod and a laptop.

MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Oct. 3.
