The Black Rock Center for the Arts in Germantown will start its 2014/2015 season this Saturday, Sept. 20 with Deanna Bogart.
Bogart is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and multifaceted musician whose fans value the diversity of her genre-free zone. Recognized for her dazzling keyboards, soulful saxophone, smoky vocals and cut-above songwriting, Deanna combines the best of boogie-woogie, contemporary blues, country and jazz into a splendid blend she calls “blusion.”
Bogart’s fusion of musical styles has garnered her three consecutive Blues Music Awards’ Horn Instrumentalist of the Year for 2008, 2009 and 2010, along with 20 Wammies, the Washington Area Music Awards.

Next Saturday, Sept. 27, Black Rock presents an night of laughs with District Comedy, as the DC-based group brings urban edginess back to Germantown. It promises to be a night of local humor, some beer and wine, as the dance theatre will be set up with special Café club seating. Doors open at 8:00 pm, show begins at 8:30 pm.
