Friends Plan Vigil, Reward as Search for Hoggle Children Hits Facebook

Friends of Troy Turner, the father of missing Jocob and Sarah Hoggle, have been canvasing the area in downtown Germantown since Tuesday night. They’ve been handing out flyers and searching for signs that might point to the location of the children or their mother, Catherine Hoggle.

Last night, they took their efforts to Facebook. Astrine Etheridge-Covington created a Facebook page to help get the word out about the missing Hoggle children.

Tomorrow night they plan an 8:00 pm candlelight vigil in near the Chik-Fil-A in Germantown. “We are passionate about bringing these babies home. However, we know we cannot do it without the help of the community. We are urging the community of Clarksburg, Germantown and anyone who is passionate about helping to bring our babies home to join us,” read a post on the page.

A crowd-sourced fundraising campaign has also begun in an effort to raise money to offer as a reward for information leading to the safe return of two year-old Jacob and three year-old Sarah.


“This page was created by the loved ones of Jacob and Sarah to help raise money to offer as a reward for any information that will aide in the safe return of these precious babies to their father and family. Any amount you can give will help and be deeply appreciated,” said the page.

Etheridge-Covington said she created the gofundme.com because people may be more included to provide information if there was a reward. She said she created the FaceBook page and gofundme.com site at 2:00 am Friday morning.

Etheridge-Covington works with Turner and said she is doing this because “Troy is always there for us for anything we may need and we need to let him know that he is not alone,” she said.

She is hopeful that her employer will donate some funds to reward effort and plans on asking Chik-Fil-A and other Ger
