Two Strong-Arm Robberies Lead Police Blotter

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Aug, 25 through Sept. 2, including two strong-arm robberies by groups youths, and one attempted robbery by another group.

   MCPD report that on Wednesday, Aug 27 a group of four suspects committed an attempted robbery in the area of Cinnamon Drive and Turmeric Court in Germantown. The suspects, four males and one female, assaulted the victim and unsuccessfully attempted to obtain property. Police describe them as a black male, 5 foot, 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, another black bald male 5 foot, 7 inches, 170 pounds, a third black male with short black hair, 5 foot, 10 inches, 150 pounds. Lastly, a black female with long black hair, 5 foot, 6 inches tall, 130 pounds was part of the group.

   A strong-arm robbery took place at the 19600 block of Gunners Branch Road in Germantown on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 2:51 am. Police report that three black male suspects, one with dreadlocks, forcefully removed property from the victim.

   Yet, another strong-arm robbery took place on Sunday, Aug. 31 at 10:09 pm on the 12800 block of Clopper Road in Germantown. Police say four black males suspects, all described as age 21 and 5 foot, 10 inches tall, along with one 19 year-old, 5 foot, 10 inch black female,  assaulted the victim and obtained property.

   A residential burglar occurred on the 20400 block of Bloomingville Court in Germantown, sometime between Tuesday, Aug. 26 and Friday, Aug. 29. There was no forced entry and property was taken from the residence.

   MCPD reports an attempted burglary occurred in the 18900 block of Highstream Drive in Germantown on Tuesday, Sept. 2 between 4:45 am and 6:30 pm. Police report that forced entry was attempted at the residence, but nothing was taken.

   Police reported an aggravated assault on the 19300 block of Circle Gate Drive in Germantown on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 8:11 pm. The suspect, a 33 year-old male from Germantown, was arrested and is known to the victim, according to police.

   Four thefts from vehicles were reported to have occurred overnight between Wednesday, Aug. 27 and Thursday, Aug. 28. There were no signs of forced entry to vehicles parked on Waters Point Lane, Country Ridge Drive, and Wynnfield Drive in Germantown.

   MCPD officers have arrested a 22 year-old Gaithersburg man in connection with five garage burglaries reported on Monday, Aug. 25. The incidents occurred on Burdette Forest Road, Branbrier Road, Murphy Grove Terrace and Clarks Crossing in Clarksburg. Police report that most of the garages were unlocked and various items were taken.

   MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Sept. 12.
