MCPD Release Video of Last Sighting of Catherine Hoggle

September 12, 2014

By Kevin O’Rourke

Montgomery County Police have release the video tape of the last confirmed sighting of Catherine Hoggle at 4:40 am on Monday morning. Police have had no sightings of Catherine Hoggle or her children since this video.

“The police department remains concerned for Catherine and the children,” said the statement Friday morning. “The last verified sighting of Catherine was on Tuesday morning, Sept. 9 at approximately 4:30 am in Germantown. There have been no confirmed sightings of the children since they were reported missing by their father on Monday, Sept. 8.”

Police reported late Sunday that a Ride On Bus driver believes that Hoggle, without the kids, was a passenger on his Ride On bus on Tuesday night, Sept. 9.  At approximately 6:30 p.m., the bus driver believes that a woman who appeared to be  Catherine Hoggle, boarded the bus at the Germantown Transit Center near Route 118 and Aircraft Drive.  She rode the bus to the Gaithersburg Transit Center adjacent to  Lakeforest Mall and exited the bus at that location.  There is no video from the bus.

Hoggle, a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic patient, who has been off her medications for as long as two weeks, has eluded police for most of this week. MCPD obtained a warrant for her arrest on child neglect charges, based on her leaving her children, Jacob, 2, and Sarah, 3, unattended for more than 72 hours.

There are no searches planned for today. “Today, Montgomery County Police Search managers will review, evaluate, and discuss search efforts thus far. There are no planned searches for today unless information is received that would warrant an immediate search,” said the statement. Police indicate that search managers will resume active searches tomorrow.

Police are still asking the public to call with information on possible sightings of Catherine Hoggle. Anyone with information is urged to call 9-1-1 or the police non-emergency number 301-279-8000.
