Car Overturns on Seneca Meadows Parkway

Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue personnel were called to the scene of an overturned car on Seneca Meadows Parkway shortly after 10:30 am Friday morning Aug. 29.

The car, a Volvo V70 mid-sized wagon on its roof, MCFRS transported the drive to a local hospital for medical attention, her status was not available. The eastbound lanes of Seneca Meadows Parkway were closed by MCPD for about an hour as the vehicle was removed from the road.

Chris McNickle, who works at the Charles River Laboratories, Inc. offices directly across the street from where the accident took place, said it appeared that the driver hit the curb and ended up flipping the vehicle. “That curve on Seneca Meadows Parkway is deceptive,” said McNickle, who did not witness the accident. She said that the trees which line the road around the curve are often hit by cars taking the curve too fast. “If you are going above the speed limit, than that curve is too sharp,” she said. "Another car flipped over on that curve about a year ago."
