Germantown Police Blotter


Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Monday, July 21 through Tuesday, July 29.

The Montgomery County Police website, www.mymcpnews.com reported an aggravated assault on 19000 block of Staleybridge Road in Germantown on Tuesday, July 22. The suspects are known to the victim, according to MCPD. Police arrested a 25-year-old male from Germantown in connection with the assault.

On Saturday, July 26 a residential burglary occurred in the 12900 block of Woodcutter Way in Germantown between midnight and 6:40 am. No forced entry was reported, but property was taken.

MCPD also reported seven thefts from vehicles throughout the N1 Beat. The N1 Beat includes the area north of the MARC train tracks and south of Route 270 between Little Bennett Lake and Great Seneca State Park. MCPD reports that two of the seven thefts occurred overnight on Tuesday, July 22 on Larkspur Court in Germantown. Vehicles on Wyman Way, Waterside Drive, and Shipley Terrace in Germantown were also targeted.

A purse was taken from a vehicle on the 12600 block of Black Saddle Lane in Germantown between 9 pm on July 23 and 1 am July 24.

MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Friday, Aug. 8
