MCFRS Investigates Vehicle Arson Incident

Montgomery County police and fire officials are investigating arson in connection with a vehicle fire in Germantown and the attempted arson involving several other vehicles in the area.

   The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident which took place on Mateny Road near Owls Run Way in Germantown, shortly after midnight on Wednesday, Aug. 6. The vehicle fire was quickly extinguished by members of MCFRS leaving minimal damage to the blue Toyota minivan. All the vehicles were parked on the street in a residential area.

   There was little or no damage to the several other area vehicles which were alleged to have been victimized by the attempted arson. There were no injuries, according to MCFRS chief spokesman Pete Piringer’s Twitter account

   The MCFRS is asking any individuals with information regarding the incident to call the MCFRS Arson tipline at 240-777-2263.
