Germantown Police Blotter


Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Monday, July 14 through Tuesday, July 22.

The Montgomery County Police website, www.mymcpnews.com reported an assault in the area of Wisteria Drive and Sky Blue Drive in Germantown at about 4 pm on Monday, July 14. The suspects are known to the victim, according to MCPD.

On Wednesday, July 16 an aggravated assault occurred in the parking lot of 18704 Lake Mary Celeste Lane at about 2 am. MCPD reports that the suspects assaulted the victim and fled the scene.

A strong-armed robbery occurred in the area of the 7-Eleven at 12861 Clopper Road on Thursday, July 17 at approximately 9:30 pm. The suspects, five black males, 18 or 19 years old, assaulted the victim and stole property.

A residential burglary, in which property was taken, occurred on Whitechurch Court between 8 pm, Thursday, July 17 and 7 am Friday, July 18, according to MCPD. It is unknown how the burglar was able to gain entry to the home.

The MCPD reported the arrest of Omar Ceron, 36, of Germantown for an alleged aggravated assault which took place on Saturday, July 19 on the 25500 block of Long Corner Road in Damascus.

Also on Saturday, July 19, an armed robbery occurred in the 13000 block Wisteria Drive in Germantown around 2:17 am. The suspect was described as, a 5 foot 6 inch, black male weighing approximately 150 pounds wearing tan slacks and a black shirt, according to MCPD.

MCPD also reported five thefts from vehicles throughout what MCPD refers to as the N1 Beat. The N1 Beat includes the area north of the MARC train tracks and south of Route 270 between Little Bennett Lake and Great Seneca State Park. MCPD reports that four of the five thefts occurred on Wednesday, July 16 between midnight and 7 am. Entry was forced in three incidents and one vehicle was left unlocked. Targeted vehicles were on Churchill Ridge Circle, Waters Row Terrace, P7artridge Wood Drive, Port Haven Drive and Wisteria Drive at Misty Meadow Terrace. Property stolen includes loose items such as coins and a purse, according to MCPD.

MCPD also reported five thefts from vehicles throughout what MCPD refers to as the N2 Beat. The N2 Beat includes the area south of the MARC train tracks and north of Schaffer Road between Rt. 117 and Great Seneca State Park. The N2 Beat also runs north of Barnsville Road between Slidell Road and Black Hills Regional Park, and south of W. Old Baltimore Road.MCPD reports that four of the five thefts occurred overnight between Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16. Entry was forced in three incidents and property stolen included a GPS, iPod and portable speakers, according to MCPD.

MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Friday, July 31.
