Chess and a Dog at the Library

Beginning or struggling readers are encouraged to come and read to a dog at 4 pm, as Zachary, a rescued greyhound and certified therapy dog will be at the library. Read to a Dog allows beginning readers and those who want to improve their reading skills a unique opportunity to improve their skills by reading to an audience that won’t judge, and only respond with a tail wag and maybe a nuzzle. This is a first come, first serve event and no registration is required.

Also, on Monday beginning at 6:30 Chess Club for ages 11 to 17. This is an opportunity to .practice and play in an open and friendly environment, while learning the basics of the game, strategy and etiquette. The club is open to all levels, beginner to advanced. Chess boards will be provided, but player’s are encouraged to bring their own.
